Being a dog owner is often compared to being a parent. Now while your dog will never grow up to get a job, it also won't eventually resent you. And with the economy the way it is, your kid probably won't have a job when they get older either. The point is, having a pet requires a lot of responsibility. Having a dog is an incredible experience, so don't spoil it by being an idiot. I'm writing this because Responsible Dog Ownership Day is tomorrow, September 17th. Yes there is a day in America for everything. This is important though. Puppies are obviously beyond adorable, but they are almost totally dependent on you. If you've already made the major commitment of bringing a dog home or are currently deliberating about doing it, there are things you should know to get the most out of the experience, and keep your new friend safe. Here are some tips to make sure you're taking care of your dog to the best of your abilities.
