Lonely Autistic Boy Without Friends Got Flooded With Fan Mail

An 11-year-old boy suffering from autism has been bombarded with presents and letters of support after his father shared a tear-inducing note on Facebook illustrating his son’s loneliness. During a recent parents’ evening at his son Christopher’s school in New Jersey, Bob Cornelius noticed an assignment the boy had done in which he’d been asked to fill out statements describing himself.

Next to a line saying “Some of my friends are…”, Christopher wrote: “No-one.” Last week Bob uploaded a photo of the assignment on his Facebook page, along with an open letter in which he described the effects of his son’s isolation from his peers.
