Dog's truly are man's best friend. They are always happy to see you, whether you left for work or just briefly stepped outside. They don't care if you're fat, skinny, bald, or old. Their love doesn't even waver when you're down on your luck. It's always sadder to me to see a homeless person with a dog, but also heartwarming. It just underscores the power of dogs and how even people with nothing will take care of them. That applies to a homeless man named Patrick. He is willing to do anything for his dog, Franklin, even making sure he got food first. So when things took a turn for the worse, and made a cardboard sign with the words “Dog in Pound – Need Help.” Wilma Price saw that sign and felt compelled to find out Patrick’s tale. This is an amazing story about a woman who saw a homeless man and was touched by what she read. Fortunately a kindhearted woman named Wilma saw his sign and decided to find out if his story was true so she could help. Here, in Wilma’s own words, is the tale of Wilma, Patrick, and Franklin. It's the very essence of compassion, love, and humanity.
