Girl With Down Syndrome Opens Her Own Bakery When Local Bakeries Refuse To Hire Her

Colette Divitto is a 22-year-old girl with Down Syndrome. Ever since she was a teenager, she has had a passion for baking! When she turned 22, she decided she wanted to do it professionally so she started applying for jobs all over the Boston area.
However, she got rejected at every single job she applied for. Colette explained, "Many people who interviewed me for jobs said I was really nice but not a good fit for them. It was really hurtful and I felt rejected a lot." She says she started wondering if she was getting rejected because she had Down syndrome.
